Ape

Hello! I do hope one and all has had delicious pancakes!

I'm back in the land of the living - For this, I would like to thank my little sisters, for visiting and giving me no time to think about anything but then, and Eastenders, for being so thoroughly gripping recently. (Although I am finding the 'whodunnit' adverts really grating now...okay, we get it...duf dufs).

Had a great weekend - my stomach muscles are bloody killing me from Go Ape - that harness really shows you who's boss after a couple of hours and tens of zip slides. However, it was bloody brilliant...terrifying at times, and completely classic when I was mistaken for my sisters' mum then almost failed to climb a rope net. I would be an absolutely useless conscript....the army would almost certainly benefit from having me in an office...sorting the post and answering the phones is my calling.

I also had the joyful experience of changing a tyre for the first time. A lovely man came past and tried to help, but then we realised my spare was flat, so he went on his way and I had to run around to find someone who could take me to get my spare changed so that I could change the other tyre. JOB DONE though, and I was surprised at how easy it was...the men make out like their traditional stereotype jobs are hard - give me changing a wheel over the ironing, cooking a meal or hoovering any day of the week!

That's all really - me and the sisters hung out and watched films and ate a lot...exactly as it should be a reckon. I got my arse kicked at darts by an 11 year old about 20 times. booo.

Off to Norwich this weekend - VERY excited! Will be going to look for wedding dresses - more on that another time.

Blogs

I just spent some time clicking 'next blog' at the top of the page and reading other people's blogs. Its amazing. I highly recommend doing this for ten minutes or so - its addictive and so ... heart-warming?  I'm a big mush, but still feeling quite ill, so i have an excuse.

I also watched a video blog one of my friends made today - hearing the voice of someone you haven't seen for ages is an absolute pleasure that I had forgotten. Especially, although I don't know why, when they aren't talking to you...the video was so much different from hearing someone on the phone.

It was a nice way to while away some time on a quiet Sunday.

Infected

So, I have an ear infection.
It hurts all the time, and 4 days of antibiotics have so far done nothing except make me think the other ear is now ailing. fun. I've been off work, the weather has been too horrible to go outside for fear of making me worse, so I'm stuck inside, with an ear too painful to talk to anyone on the phone and a headache that spasms if i spend more than ten minutes at a time at the computer.
I'm getting a lot of sleep though.
And, I've discovered Spaced. Even though I can't hear it very well. Admittedly, I'm about 10 years too late.  I have no excuse really...except that I thought it was something much weirder than it is. Absurdist brilliance at its best. Simon Pegg has now entered my (hallowed and not-very-full) hall of people I think are brilliant. Catchy, eh! (the other occupants are David Tennant. and the people that made The West Wing (the tv show, not the slaves who built the building, although on reflection, they were pretty brilliant.) )

To look forward to - My little sisters will be visiting me next weekend - I'm very excited about this - although a little nervous that once the novelty of one night wears off, we'll all be bored to tears. Pray for sunshine!

Evaluation So far - 1) this has to not turn into a blog about the telly. I do love the telly though.
                             2) I use brackets a lot.

To Date

So, In February 2009 I started a blog. But then I decided I didn't enjoy blogging. So I stopped.
Now i want to try again. Yes, I'm fadtastic, and yes, I'm coming to this late. But my life has a sort of maybe interesting angle now, and, as I am sure someone clever said at some point, reviewing yourself is no bad thing.

So, to bring anyone to the present.
I was born, I grew up, I went to Uni and there I came to life. Then, after 4 sweet (rose tinted already?!) years, I got a job in rural Devon and moved hundreds of miles away from my friends and family to start anew. That was in July.
Now its February, and I think i've been existing on some kind of autopilot...enjoying being lazy, living for the weekends I go away and visit people.
So, I reckon that if I start blogging, I might be more proactive. And I spend that much time doing nothing on the internet that I might as well write something.

Here goes...
